About Warrior One Wellbeing
My intention is to help improve the health and wellbeing of the local community through the provision of yoga, mindfulness and meditation through group and individual activities. I offer a range of Ashtanga/Iyengar yoga activities, from energetic routines to slow, serene sequences for all ages (including children's yoga and yoga for people with restricted mobility). This style blends traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga with Iyengar-inspired alignment techniques.
I discovered yoga late in life after careers in the Armed Forces, Probation Service and, latterly, as a primary school teacher (where I taught yoga and relaxation to my year 5/6 class). I trained at the Himalayan Yoga Valley Centre, India, in 2023 under the instruction of a teacher who had himself been a student of some of the most respected gurus from the late 20th century, including Sri BKS Iyengar.
I am particularly motivated to introduce yoga to more men - With the multiple benefits yoga has to offer, men from any lifestyle or background should take advantage of this practice. In the last 50 years, yoga shifted from a predominantly male to a predominantly female practice as yoga became more popular in the West.
Here are the 5 best benefits of yoga for everyone:
* Increase Flexibility & Mobility
* Improve Strength, Power, & Endurance
* Develop Athleticism
* Relieve Stress & Anxiety
* Enhance Mental Health
