One Step Forward
About One Step Forward
You don’t need to be able to stand on one leg to do yoga. Nor do you need to be able to touch your toes or tie yourself up like a pretzel… If you have a body and you can breathe, you can do yoga. And if you’re ready to (re)connect with your body and your breath and open to seeing where that leads you, then you’re my perfect yoga student!
I teach Yoga for Every Body classes online via Zoom twice a week during school term times. These classes combine the friendly, interactive feeling of a traditional class with the convenience of practicing in the comfort of your own home.
I also offer regular in-person workshops, a wonderful opportunity to step away from your busy life for a few hours. Suitable for all levels of yoga experience and none, they have been described as "perhaps the most relaxing thing I've ever done" and providing "an environment and platform for peace and tranquility and ... the sense of being held and nurtured and nourished".
I'm also part of the 3-person teaching team for a weekly Yoga for Health class. This class is ideal for anyone with limited mobility (chronic, acute or age-related). We use gentle postures, breath work and meditation to help you gently lengthen and awaken your spine, relax your shoulders, free your hips, wake up your feet and strengthen your legs. The postures can be done sitting on a chair, standing or on the floor, in a way that is appropriate for each individual person.
