What is “I’m not Bendy Yoga?”
You could be forgiven for thinking that yoga is just for the flexible young women and the muscly tanned guys – doing acrobatic postures in exotic places and meditating by the sea. Social media can suggest that this is what yoga should be. It is more than enough to put you off going to your first yoga class.
Thankfully, this is not the case and Yoga is for every BODY. We can all have the benefits that come with yoga practice.
First of all, you need to have a sense of humour and not take yourself too seriously
It really doesn’t matter if you are not flexible or bendy, we are all perfectly imperfect and most of us have old and new injuries, it’s ok to not be ok – let’s work with what we’ve got…
Maybe we are not at our fittest and have a weakness for cake or we find it hard to touch our toes?
Maybe we consider ourselves too old, too long in the tooth to start something new?
Maybe we don’t want to have to worry about what we are wearing and if our top matches our leggings?
Maybe we feel self conscious and prefer to feel comfortable in an all women class?
If you can relate with one or more of these then this is probably the class for you
